AN OLD-FASHIONED SIGN-RAISING AT KANUGA!
05.11.2021 - Kanuga Stories

Today crews reinstalled Kanuga’s entrance sign at the corner of Kanuga Road and Kanuga Lake Road. “Several years ago, we approached the land owners at the corner of Kanuga and Kanuga Lake Roads in an effort to restore the sign to the well-traveled area. After several conversations and some wonderful historical remembrances, they agreed to an easement for a sign, which was recently filed in Henderson County,” says Kanuga President and CEO Michael Sullivan, “Now, Kanuga once again has a sign visible on Kanuga Road, proudly welcoming all to our sacred place.”
Kanuga staff worked for a year to repair and re-paint the sign, and also added a section at the bottom for Ride Kanuga, the downhill mountain bike park which opened in summer of 2020. Kanuga will also maintain the grassy lot that serves as the sign’s location.
The newly reinstalled restored sign, which features a previous logo, has made a temporary encore debut and will remain until a new sign with the current logo is fashioned later this year. Join us in celebrating the return of this beloved welcome to all who attend Kanuga!
