Summer Guest Period

green-divider

Although our traditional summer guest period cannot be offered for the summer of 2020, we are very pleased to be able to transfer your Inn, Cottage, or Guest House reservation to our new Kanuga Cottage & Inn Retreats (Inn rooms available beginning June 27). Please see the Q&A for answers to commonly asked questions.

Summer 2020 Guest Period Q&A

Q: What if I have already registered for summer Guest Period?

A: You will have the first right to reserve the same cottage or inn accommodation under our new Kanuga Cottage Retreats. At this point, due to cleaning guidelines, we will need to leave each cottage available for 24 hours upon departure, so your stay will begin on Saturday and end on Friday (six nights), rather than the customary seven-nights. You may also book a partial week if that works better.

Q: Will Kanuga Cottage Retreats cost the same?

A: There is a new pricing structure based on a nightly rate per cottage, plus a meal plan. Both will be discounted from our standard Guest Period rates. You will be charged at the new pricing structure and all payments made to date will be transferred over.

Q: What about activities—will we have the same ones?

A: Guest Period activities as you have seen them in the past will not occur.  Due to mass gathering restrictions (limited to ten people or fewer in NC) we will not be able to offer the standard group events, such as bingo, square dance, follies, etc. You WILL be able to schedule times at the waterfront, biddy pool, fishing pier, boating, and tennis, and have access to Kanuga’s wonderful hiking trails!

Q: Will we still be able to enjoy meals in the Dining Room?

A: Meals will be prepared by Kanuga for you to pick up and enjoy in your cottage or on our property. The new Kanuga Market will be the hub for guests to pick up meals and purchase fresh snacks and other Kanuga shop favorites.

Q: Is all of this set in stone?

A: As North Carolina continues to re-open with a phased approach, we may be able to make some adjustments and changes to the structure of our Kanuga Cottage Retreats. For example, what is being offered in June may differ from what we can offer in July. We will adhere to whatever guidelines the state is currently enforcing as well as what is in the best interest of our guests and our staff. We ask for your patience as we adjust along with the phased reopening of North Carolina.
