Kanuga Spiritual Retreats

Reconnect with Yourself and Creation

green-divider

Personal, private connections with Creation’s natural rhythms instill a sense of healing, nourishment, and wellbeing for body and soul. In this era of “busy,” of “doing,” take a moment to simply “be.”

With 1,400 acres of forests, trails, lakes, and green spaces, Kanuga is a year-round sanctuary for your spirit. We’re pleased to invite you to experience a deeply spiritual, personal retreat in our mountain valley home.

Stay in an historic 1900s cottage or in a more contemporary inn room, enjoy hearty meals, and soak in that special peace and awe found only in nature. Enrich your visit by selecting from a variety of staff-led experiences like sound bathing, massage, guided meditative hikes, and spiritual direction.

These retreats are designed individually for and with you, tailored to your specific needs through personal consultation with Kanuga’s staff prior to booking.

The Rev. Lucy Strandlund, Associate Rector for Liturgy & Pastoral Care at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Winston-Salem, talks about her Spiritual Retreat at Kanuga.

Firewood for your guest cottage or guest house is available from Kanuga’s shop for purchase in bundles.

Adjacent to the main Lodge and renovated in 2016, the inn offers comfortable rooms with air conditioning and an elevator. Each floor has a communal rocking chair balcony overlooking the lake. There are no cooking, refrigeration, or food-warming, or coffee-making appliances in our inn rooms. However the inn is adjacent to the Main Lodge, where coffee is offered in the lobby, and meals in the dining room.
