Stay with Us

Reserve a mountain getaway at Kanuga.

For nearly 100 years, Kanuga’s mountain getaways have provided much-needed respite from the chaos of everyday life—a chance to rediscover what really matters. You and your family are free to enjoy yourselves however you choose, with options for children and adults alike. Join a tennis match or hike to a scenic overlook, enjoy the lake, or spend an evening catching fireflies. If you’ve been longing to reclaim family time, to take a deep breath of mountain air, or spend an entire day (or week!) without a cell phone in your pocket, then Kanuga is perfect for your getaway.

Kanuga requires that all Kanuga staff and guests over the age of two wear face coverings when inside Kanuga’s public spaces. This is for both the unvaccinated and vaccinated.

This is to protect young children and others who are unable to be vaccinated as well as those among us who are immunocompromised. This guidance is also designed to protect the vaccinated from break-through infection. Please wash your hands and/or use hand sanitizer frequently(Health and safety protocols are subject to change.)

Each historic cottage or guest house features a porch, living room with fireplace, and plenty of charm. Accommodations range in size from one to six bedrooms and each is equipped with a mini-refrigerator and microwave. Per-night rates vary depending on the number of bedrooms and cottage amenities. Firewood for your guest cottage or guest house is available from Kanuga Market for purchase in bundles.

Adjacent to the main Lodge and renovated in 2016, the inn offers comfortable, hotel-style rooms with air conditioning and an elevator. Each floor has a communal rocking chair balcony overlooking the lake.

These dry-camping sites are located in and near the old “Covered Wagon” meadow. One-way, drive-up access is on a very narrow, gravel/dirt, winding road. The site includes non-potable water, a port-o-let, picnic tables, and community fire pits. This area is designated for dry camping only (no sewer, showers, or electricity).

Campsite guests have access to Kanuga’s 20 miles of hiking trails, Kanuga Lake, the playground, tennis courts, gymnasium, and other complimentary areas based on availability. Scheduled activities and dining are not included in the camping fee. World-class downhill mountain biking is available for a fee through Ride Kanuga.
