We are pleased to introduce you to Ta’alolo Pa’u (Ta’), general manager for Kanuga’s dining and lodging operations. Now well-poised to fully recover from the pandemic over the next few years, we are pleased that a professional with so much experience and the character to match will be working alongside us to move Kanuga forward in its mission to welcome all people to connect with each other, nature, and the Creator.

Ta’s Polynesian heritage taught him the importance of family, community, and hospitality at a young age and led him to an early service industry job with Gucci as a retail manager for 13 years. His passion for serving others made the transition into the hotel world a natural fit, and he has served as GM, Director of Recreation, and Operations Manager for notable companies around the country such as Hilton Hotels and Disney Resorts, as well as independent properties including the Riverhouse Resort in Bend, OR and the Gaylord Rockies Resort & Spa in Aurora, CO, where he served as Director of Operations.

Ta’s varied experience, as well as his thoughtful take on organizational culture, approachable demeanor, and desire to develop future hospitality leaders make him a perfect fit for a destination as unique and beautiful as ours. Relocating to North Carolina also allows Ta’ to be closer to family, including his two daughters who also reside in the state.

“I am extremely delighted to be part of the Kanuga family here in Hendersonville, NC. The atmosphere is exhilarating in mind, body and spirit. I look forward to having the opportunity to welcome our Kanuga meeting conference attendees and SGP guests this summer. Equally, to work alongside our amazing team members and leaders to continue Kanuga’s spiritual legacy and honored traditions in an overall phenomenal guest experience.”

Aside from work, Ta’ likes to spend his free time with his family and participating in outdoor activities such as hiking, biking and camping or just simply relaxing and reading a good book.

We hope you will join us in welcoming him: tpau@staykanuga.org.
