Winter Weekend B&B Retreats

Bring your valentine to the mountains for a long weekend! Cozy cottages and guest houses are fully heated and have working fireplaces and indoor baths. Fully renovated and rustic-historic lodging options. Continental breakfast is included with your stay. Two-night minimum with a 12 p.m. late checkout.

HISTORIC COTTAGES & GUEST HOUSES
Each winterized historic cottage or guest house features a porch, living room with fireplace, and plenty of charm. Several cottages also include a “kitchenette.” Unlike Kanuga’s campsites and cabins available in summer, all cottages and guest houses are fully heated and have indoor plumbing.

Accommodations range in size from one to six bedrooms and are equipped with a mini-refrigerator, coffee pot, and microwave. Per-night rates vary depending on the number of bedrooms and amenities. Two-night minimum stay.

KANUGA LAKE INN is closed for the season.

CAMP CABINS AND CAMP SITES are closed for the season.

RV/VAN/TRUCK SITES will remain open through the winter. 100% dry camping.

Kanuga provides one meal per day during B&B Retreats, a ‘grab and go’ continental breakfast with a menu that changes daily. Typical offerings include fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, bagels, toast, cereal, juice, coffee, and water. If you have allergies or other dietary concerns, please email us (info@kanuga.org) with your restrictions.

Kanuga Market offers pick-up snacks, soft drinks, beer, and wine. It’s also where you’ll find Kanuga apparel, artwork, caps, water bottles, and more..

Guests may bring lunch and dinner options from home or enjoy local dining in Hendersonville.

Firewood for your cottage or guest house is available for purchase in bundles in Kanuga Market. Call 828-692-9220 prior to your visit if you would like it ready and waiting in your accommodation.

Many activities are included with your reservation, including 20 miles of hiking trails, personal worship on your own in Chapel of the Transfiguration, tennis, basketball, and fishing (catch and release). Guests may bring their own kayaks & canoes as long as each person brings a personal flotation device and paddles—waiver required. (Sorry, but we cannot accommodate paddle boards.) Your favorite spaces, like the rocking chair porch and Daisy’s Lake Trail await your visit. The Library and Fireplace Lounge in the main lodge are also open, as well as the indoor gym.

In addition, Hendersonville and the western North Carolina region have much to offer, including cider, beer, and wine tastings, shopping, and dining.

Bed linens and towels are provided; please bring your own pillows. Daily housekeeping is not provided, but additional towels and linens are available.

Housekeeping fees:

• $25 cleaning fee is charged on all accommodations
• $125 Security Deposit that is refundable for cottages (if left in good condition)
• $75 Security Deposit that is refundable for the Inn (if left in good condition)

Examples of why a deposit would not be refunded may include:

• Ruined towels
• Dog messes (accidents, excessive hair, damage to property, etc.)
• Furniture being rearranged
• Arts and crafts (such as clay, play dough, paint) left on floors or porches
• Excessive trash or dirt
• Furniture taken from other buildings on campus, etc.

The deposit may also be utilized to offset additional labor hours needed if established check-out times are not honored.

Check-in: 4-7 p.m. (check in after 7 p.m. requires pre-arrangement)
Check-out: 12 p.m.

Note: These are the check-in/check-out times required for us to operate safely during the pandemic, but should you arrive early, please let us know. You are welcome to enjoy the property until your lodging is ready.

Kanuga Market—located in the conference center’s main lodge—features  Kanuga apparel, caps, artwork, and more. It’s also where you’ll find wine, beer, and snacks.

For Winter weekend retreats, we welcome guests with well-mannered dogs that meet our health and safety guidelines. Specific behavioral policies and additional fees apply. Please use this form to thoughtfully plan your visit to Kanuga with canine friends. Be sure to check “Pets” in your booking search to find the cottages that do accommodate pets.
