About the Retreat

The Musicians’ Retreat at Kanuga is a gathering of music leaders from around the country. It is a time set aside for church musicians to rest and renew in the sanctuary of not only the peaceful mountain scenery, but also the mutual support of peers who understand the unique challenges of this vocation. Come for collaborative worship, sharing of ideas, resources and best practices, peer-led discussions, jam-sessions, and return home with a clarified, hopeful vision of a church renewed through your soulful ministry.

Who is this retreat for?

If you lead (or are part of) any form of emerging music expression in the church, then this retreat is for you.  If you would like to experience what other creative leaders are doing around the nation, then this retreat is for you.  If you are among the many who have burned the candle at both ends for a long, long time, this retreat is for you.  Come bless us and be blessed by us.

Retreat Details

Our 2022 retreat is coordinated by Bishop Brian Prior and Charles Milling of Live Hymnal. Our “house band” will be facilitated by The Saint Thomas Gospel Choir, directed by Waltier Blocker.
