Kanuga Cottage & Inn Retreats
A Time for
Renewal and Reflection
We are pleased to welcome guests back to our 1,400-acre retreat with Kanuga Cottage & Inn Retreats, an innovative summer solution for families offering respite and renewal. Each family may book accommodations with meals and outdoor activities, including boating on the 30-acre lake and hiking its 20 miles of trails, as well as s’mores by the campfire, tennis, fishing, and more.
We also introduce a reimagined approach to food service. Kanuga favorites (Kanuga toast!) as well as new items are offered with daily meal plans created and prepared by Chef Michael Contrado, who joined Kanuga this year. “It’s so fun to think about our offerings in a fresh way. Our team has really risen to the challenge and I’m very proud of the menu,” he says.
See below for details on cottage accommodations, meals, and activities, and stay tuned for more about
Kanuga Inn, which re-opens June 27.
“I just wanted to add that the food was great…” “Everyone in the dining hall and at the waterfront couldn’t have been more gracious and helpful.”

Check-out: 10:00 A.M.
Bed linens and towels will be provided. We suggest that you bring your own pillow. Housekeeping will not clean your accommodation each day but additional towels and linens will be available at a central location in the lodge.
Upon check-out, all bed linens and towels should be removed and placed on the porch. Trash should be placed in outside bins and furniture arranged as it was upon check in.
Housekeeping at Kanuga has faced increasing challenges upon guest departure in recent years, some taking several hours or more to address between check-out and the next guests’ checking in. We will charge a $150 housekeeping deposit upon booking, and if your cottage is left in normal condition, we will refund the charge. Examples of why a deposit would not be refunded include furniture being rearranged, arts and crafts (such as clay, playdough, paint) left on floors or porches, excessive trash or dirt, furniture taken from other buildings on campus, etc. This deposit may also be utilized to offset additional labor hours needed if established check out times are not honored.
Kanuga Market, a brand new concept located in the West Dining Hall, is the pickup location for meals, which should be eaten in your cottage or outside (while respecting social distancing guidelines).
Two meal package options are available (three meals a day):
• Full-portion size ($42.50 per day)
• Half-portion size ($27.50 per day)
Cottage meal tickets include three meals a day for each guest staying in your accommodation. Your meal ticket includes a selection of items prepackaged by Kanuga personnel. Please bring a shopping bag or picnic basket for transport from Kanuga Market to your cottage. Additional signature Kanuga items will be available for purchase, such as cheese straws, pimento cheese, house made chips, hummus, chicken salad, and soups. Please note that each member of your party will be charged separately for food and beverage.(Remember to return Kanuga’s mason jars before you check out!)
More information on this new process will be sent after booking confirmation. A reservations agent will take your meal requests, as well as make note of any dietary restrictions when you confirm your stay. Please note that with supply chain issues, food costs for Kanuga are much higher than normal. Menu items may change unexpectedly.
Carafes of coffee are available each morning, along with a selection of milk. Soft drinks, beer, and wine, along with some mixers, are to be available for purchase.
Each cottage has dinnerware and eating utensils for your use. An initial bottle of dishwashing soap and dish towel will be provided for you to wash these in your cottage sink.
You are welcome to bring snacks and drinks. Each cottage will be stocked with a microwave and mini-fridge.
In numbers of ten or less, cottage guest groups may enjoy the following:
Nature Hikes and Walking Trails
“Pray in Place” Outdoor Worship
