Who We Hire

Thank you for your interest in MTOS.

Qualified applicants are college graduates with experience working with children in the outdoors, particularly in experiential education. Applicants should feel comfortable teaching natural science topics with hands-on activities and facilitating cooperation and high adventure activities.

MTOS instructors must have at minimum current first aid and CPR training. Many are certified in wilderness first aid or as wilderness first responders.

Application Process

Mountain Trail Outdoor School hires seasonal instructors for each fall and spring.

  • We begin accepting applications for the fall season in late March/early April each year.
  • We begin accepting applications for the spring season in November of each year.

You will be asked to provide three references and upload a copy of your current resume. Please note: you cannot save your work on the online application; plan to complete all the information in one sitting. Applicants selected for an interview will be contacted via email or phone soon after their application is submitted. Due to the number of applications we are unable to interview all candidates.
