Full-Time Employment

Reservations Coordinator

Kanuga Conferences, Inc. has an immediate opening for a new team member in our reservations department.   Previous guest service and reservations experience preferred.  The reservations coordinator must possess excellent computer skills, verbal/written communications, speak fluent English and a pleasant/helpful personality. Meets or exceeds brand standard expectations.

Responsibilities Include:

  • The Reservations Coordinator greets, registers, and assigns rooms to guests.
  • Handles confidential information, including guest records, with a high degree of integrity.
  • Promptly and effectively deals with guest requests and concerns.
  • The Reservations Coordinator answers and routes calls as appropriate; responds to guest requests with accuracy.
  • Responsible for payments and transactions during shift.
  • Maintains accurate records including cash flows, registrations, reservations, and data entry.
  • Communicating with all departments needs of the guests.

Maintenance Associate

Kanuga Conferences, Inc. has an immediate opening for a new team member in our maintenance department.

Primary Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, sheet rock repair and painting that relate to building maintenance and repair.
  • Knowledge of HVAC troubleshooting and preventative maintenance routines.
  • Knowledge and experience with the hand tools and equipment necessary to complete maintenance and repair on facility buildings.
  • Skills in following safety protocols and recognizing hazards to keep both guest and staff safe.
  • Ability to work under limited supervision to complete maintenance issues and repairs on facility buildings in a timely manner.
  • High school diploma or GED and at least one year building maintenance experience.
  • Ability to communicate (both orally and in writing) effectively with guests and staff on a daily basis.
  • Employee must have a valid N.C driver’s license.

Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here represent those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position demands work inside and outside in all types of weather conditions including snow removal. There is frequent need to stand, sit, stoop, walk, reach, lift heavy objects (up to 50lbs), climb, balance, and perform other similar actions throughout the work day. Some overtime work is required including nights, weekends, and some holidays. Employee will be provided with a company vehicle to be used during work hours and to be driven after hours during an on call situation. Full-Time Yearlong, Benefited Position

The Resident Apprentice Program is designed to engage young adults into our rich history and business practices. The program gives young adults an opportunity to develop skills and habits that lead to personal and professional success through hands-on work experience, learning and development workshops, and job shadowing within a supportive community setting. The ideal apprentice is eager to learn, hardworking, community minded and flexible. Candidates with strong references and experience working within their community will be strongly considered.

  • Trimming of trees and shrubbery
  • Trash removal duties

Part-Time Employment

Relief Night Auditor – Part-Time

Kanuga Conferences, Inc. is seeking a third shift, part-time candidate for our Front Desk/Reservations Department.

Hours: 11:30pm – 7:30am

Skills needed:

  • High school degree
  • 1 year of proven auditing, accounting/bookkeeping experience
  • Experience with computerized property management systems
  • Excellent Computer skills; knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Previous hospitality and supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong aptitude for numbers, spreadsheets, and financial reports
  • Organizational and cash handling ability

Front Desk Associate – Part-Time

Kanuga Conferences, Inc. is seeking a positive thinking, friendly, customer-oriented individual in our front desk department. Qualified candidates must have a background in hospitality and customer service. Weekend and holiday work is required. Previous experience or similar experience preferred. Kanuga is a drug-free work environment. This is a part-time, year-round position.

Event and Guest Services Position

Kanuga Conferences, Inc. has part-time, year round opening in Event and Guest Services. Qualified candidates must have a background in customer service and set-up. A knowledge of food and beverage, audio/visual technology is a plus.  Must be at least 21 with a valid driver’s license due to shuttle service duties.

Retail Associate

The retail associate at Kanuga Conferences, Inc. is responsible for ensuring our guests have a positive shopping experience. The associate must actively strive to create a customer-focused shopping environment. The associate greets and responds to all customers in a friendly manner, ensures proper merchandise presentation, operates the cash register in accordance with policies and procedures, while maintaining a clean and organized work area at all times. Kanuga has multiple retail location on campus and the associate may be scheduled at any one, depending on the need. Weekend, evening and holiday work required. (Up to 25 hours a week, flexing based on seasonal needs).

Mountain Trail Outdoor School

Kanuga’s Mountain Trail Outdoor School hires instructors for the fall, winter and spring. MTOS offers day, multi-day or weeklong programs to school groups, youth groups, clubs, businesses and other organizations. With customized curriculums to meet the goals of each group, instructors lead natural science study, community building activities and opportunities for participants to increase their self-confidence through adventure based activities.
