We are excited to invite you back to Kanuga for a Staff Reunion! This includes seasonal and year-round former staff members. We look forward to reconnecting with staff alumni, as well as introducing new, current staff members.

Your weekend will be filled with fun activities and plenty of free time. Yoga, dam Swims, contemplative hikes and service projects are just a few of the opportunities to look forward to. You’re welcome to sign-up for optional activities at check-in, beginning 4 PM Friday. Please feel free to arrive a couple hours early if you’d like to hike or rock on the porch, just be sure to park in the lower Inn lot. Childcare will be available for younger children. Weekend Schedule

Sunday’s Guest Preacher: Jean J. Rowe

Jean’s Kanuga legacy spans over most her life.  At age 11, she joined a friend at Camp Kanuga and loved it there for 6 years including being a Counselor in Training. Jean then went on to Summer Staff at the Kanuga Conference Center where her roles included waitress, kitchen staff, waterfront, Waterfront Director and Summer Staff Co-Director. She has served on the Kanuga Board of Directors, is a member of the Kanuga Board of Visitors and is a Bishop Finlay Society Member. Additionally, Jean has attended Guest Period, conferences and brought the 2016 Center for Journal Therapy Conference to Kanuga.  She was the chair for the Kanuga 2000 Staff Reunion as well as the chair for former Kanuga President Albert Gooch’s retirement gala.

“The friendships made at Kanuga are some of the most important, closest and longest of my life,” Jean shared. Jean has been a donor to Kanuga for over 20 years. “Kanuga has long been my spiritual touchstone, and there will always be a part of it in me and a part of me in it.”

Jean is a member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Atlanta (right across the street from The Varsity). She just finished the 4 year lay theology program Education for Ministry through the Episcopal Church. EFM Sunday is June 16 when Jean will graduate with 3 others at All Saints! Jean is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a Certified Oncology Social Worker and a Certified Journal Therapist. She is the Associate Director of Support Services for the Young Survival Coalition.
