RESERVATIONS MANAGER

Kanuga Conferences, Inc. is seeking a year round, full time Reservations Manager. Kanuga is one of the largest camp and conference center complexes serving the Episcopal Church and the global Anglican Communion. Kanuga has a year round staff of 120 that grows to 250 seasonally. Hosting over 35,000 guests, campers and program participants annually. The Reservations Department is responsible for the volume, mix and satisfaction of all guests, clients and program participants who register to come to Kanuga Conference and Retreat Center each year. The Reservations department is a champion of guest satisfaction at Kanuga and integral in obtaining its business results and staff satisfaction goals. 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher

SALES COORDINATOR

Kanuga Conferences, Inc. is currently accepting résumés from hospitality-minded candidates whose core values are to be ethical, enthusiastic, and highly self-motivated. The full-time Sales Coordinator will be efficient, time sensitive, and dynamic in all of their work tasks. The chosen candidate will have experience in the hospitality industry in coordinating reservations for 100+ rooms, meeting spaces, and catering. Flexible schedule based on operations; weekend and holiday work may be needed; hourly rate depending on experience.

EVENT & GUEST SERVICES SUPPORT STAFF

Kanuga Conferences seeks an Event & Guest Services Support Staff person to provide event set up and breakdown, bartending, a/v support, and superior guest satisfaction to a variety of family, religious, and business groups. The Event & Guest Services Support Staff person will work closely with the Assistant Directors and Director of Event & Guest Services to offer exceptional service and hospitality to its external and internal customers and assist in the accountability for revenue and expense budgets and accurate invoicing of event groups.

Seasonal Employment

Kanuga's Mountain Trail Outdoor School hires instructors for the fall, winter and spring. MTOS offers day, multi-day or weeklong programs to school groups, youth groups, clubs, businesses, and other organizations. With customized curriculums to meet the goals of each group, instructors lead natural science study, community building activities and opportunities for participants to increase their self confidence through adventure based activities.

 

Resident Apprentice Program

Kanuga Conferences, Inc. is devoted to building up the next generation of service leaders as they are vital to our community and our future. Consequently, we have created the Resident Apprentice Program designed to engage young adults into our rich history and business practices. The program gives young adults an opportunity to develop skills and habits that lead to personal and professional success. This is achieved through hands-on work experience, learning and development workshops, and job shadowing within a supportive community setting. The ideal apprentice is eager to learn, hardworking, community minded, and flexible. Candidates with strong references and experience working within their community will be strongly considered.

The Apprentice may apply to work either within the Guest Services or Housekeeping department. Related work experience or education in one of those areas is preferred. Summer Employment

Camp Kanuga is a traditional Christian summer camp for boys and girls ages 7-15. Activities include backpacking, hiking, canoeing, swimming, adventure course, climbing tower, rock climbing, creative dramatics, art, music and much more! Counselors must be 18 years old and Junior Counselors must be 17. Camp Kanuga Trailblazers is looking for instructors to lead backpacking and canoeing trips for campers ages 15-17. Instructors must be 19 or older with some experience. Lead instructors must be 21 or older with experience leading extended backpacking trips and certified WFR or above. Camp Bob is looking for positive role models who have a strong desire to work with a diverse population of children in the outdoors. The summer begins with two weeks of staff training, followed by 10 weeks of fast-paced camping sessions. Conference Center Summer Staff: Every summer, Kanuga hires temporary staff to fulfill a wide variety of job opportunities at the conference center. It is possible to work from May through September; most positions are for the summer months.
