Chief Operating Officer

Kanuga seeks a seasoned, accomplished manager and operations professional to serve as Chief Operating Officer. In partnership with the CEO and the Division Head team, the COO will strengthen the organization’s human and operational infrastructure in ways that will inspire and enable the organization to reach more people with its mission. The role is an important structural addition at a critical inflection point for the organization, and will help its leadership maintain focus on building external relationships, broadening fundraising efforts and pursuing the vision for the future.

Additionally, the COO will help to support a lean but effective team—allowing the division heads, full-time and part-time staff to flourish, optimize business and growth opportunities and remain aligned in the service of Kanuga’s guests and clients.

Visual Communications Specialist

Kanuga’s Marketing and Communications Department seeks a full-time visual communications rock star to champion the organization’s marketing and communications materials with consistency, creativity and enthusiasm. Design (print and digital), photography, video production -- this position will have a wide range of visual communications tasks assigned to them. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, self-directed, enthusiastic, and possesses a positive attitude. You must enjoy working in a collaborative, deadline-oriented environment and be open to design input and feedback. Kanuga Conferences is seeking a positive thinking, self-motivated individual in our grounds departments.  Grounds position includes push mowing, weed eating, leaf blowing, trash removal, and other aspects of lawn maintenance required. We currently have a part time year round position available.

Seasonal Employment

Kanuga's Mountain Trail Outdoor School hires instructors for the fall, winter and spring. MTOS offers day, multi-day or weeklong programs to school groups, youth groups, clubs, businesses, and other organizations. With customized curriculums to meet the goals of each group, instructors lead natural science study, community building activities and opportunities for participants to increase their self confidence through adventure based activities.


Summer Employment

Camp Bob is looking for positive role models who have a strong desire to work with a diverse population of children in the outdoors. The summer begins with two weeks of staff training, followed by 10 weeks of fast-paced camping sessions. Positions are available for counselors, head counselors, nurses and a community coordinator. Camp Kanuga is a traditional Christian summer camp for boys and girls ages 7-15. Activities include backpacking, hiking, canoeing, swimming, adventure course, climbing tower, rock climbing, creative dramatics, art, music and much more! Counselors must be 18 years old and Junior Counselors must be 17. Kanuga Trailblazers is looking for instructors to lead backpacking and canoeing trips for campers ages 15-17. Instructors must be 19 or older with some experience. Lead instructors must be 21 or older with experience leading extended backpacking trips and certified WFR or above. Summer Staff: Every summer Kanuga hires a temporary staff to fulfill a wide variety of job opportunities at the conference center. It is possible to work from May through September; most positions are for the summer months.
