Nuevo Amanecer (New Dawn)
Mission in Action (Misión en Acción)
Nov. 14-17, 2010

Co-sponsored with the Episcopal Church's Office of Latino/Hispanic Ministries, this biennial event will offer practical tools and a network of support to better equip for ministry those working within the Latino/Hispanic community and those who want to be.
- What Can I Expect?
-
- To learn ways to become involved in Latino ministry even if you don't speak Spanish
- To meet others with your interest and begin a network
- To learn from others and share what you know
- Encouragement for developing and sustaining Latino ministry in your own parish
- Discussion groups on topics that may arise, such as the impact of legislation, community relations and local issues
Clergy, diocesan missioners, parish staff, church planters and lay leaders are invited to expand their knowledge by sharing best practices and exploring new methods of stewardship, church growth and evangelism.
Participants will take home strategies and ideas for starting and strengthening Latino/Hispanic congregations. Workshop topics include
- Building a framework for ministry
- Equipping God’s people for leadership
- Telling our story in the age of technology
The conference also will focus on ways to develop Latino/Hispanic ministries within the Episcopal Church without losing vibrant cultural identity.
