At the end of most Episcopal services, we are told to "go in peace to love and serve the Lord."
At Winterlight 34, we will explore how we find peace in our lives by living in relationship with God and how we then carry this gospel message of peace out into the world, following the commission of Christ.
For a third year, Winterlight is partnering with Stop Hunger Now, an organization that provides lifesaving meals to millions who are suffering from starvation. Conference participants will spend an afternoon preparing meals to be shipped to countries such as Haiti, Kenya, Ghana, Honduras and more. Some 10 million people die of hunger every year; we want to do our part to help this world wide problem.
Begun in 1976, Winterlight is a time for teenagers to gather, celebrate, explore their thoughts and beliefs, worship and make friends from many states — all within a welcoming, supportive Christian community.
Adults who chaperone youth groups also have a special place at Winterlight. Adult participants will attend all plenary sessions and will have their own programs.
