Renewal Conference

Becoming the Person
God Wants Me to Be
June 28-July 3, 2009

As a child, what did you want to be?

Do you still think about being and becoming?

This conference enlivens a Biblical promise: you can be whatever God wants you to be.

There is no greater challenge, but in it you can overcome fears and disappointments and learn to give and accept forgiveness.

About the keynoter

Mike Hill

Mike Hill

The Rt. Rev. Mike Hill is the 55th bishop of Bristol, England. As a child, he dreamed of becoming a professional soccer player.

He had never attended church until age 18 when a friend took him to a Christian house party and he decided to follow Christ. By age 25, he was attending seminary at Ridley Hall and Fitzwilliam College in Cambridge.

He served churches in Addiscombe, Upton Lea and Amersham before becoming the archdeacon of Berkshire in 1992. In 1998, he was consecrated as the bishop of Buckingham.

Since his consecration as the bishop of Bristol in 2003, Bishop Hill has committed himself to leading the diocese into growth. He is driven by a desire to "see heaven populated" and to help create the kinds of churches where the sort of people he used to hang out with might have a chance of finding Christ.
