Spirituality Conference

Christ's Great School of Prayer
June 8-13, 2008

AFTERNOON WORKSHOPS
  • Praying in Color, led by Sybil MacBeth of Memphis, Tenn., is an active and meditative prayer practice for the word-weary and fidgety pray-er.
It is both a process and a product. The process uses pen, paper and markers to create a time of stillness and listening. The product is a prayer drawing or icon — a visual reminder to continue to pray throughout the day. No artistic ability is necessary. The workshop is based on MacBeth's book Praying in Color: Drawing a New Path to God.
  • Making Anglican Prayer Beads, led by Paige Grimball, who also will explain how to use the beads as a prayer discipline. Beading supplies will be provided.
  • Classical Meditations, led by the Rt. Rev. Donald Hultstrand
  • Observations on Prayer, a time of informal prayer and reflections led by the Rev. Ted Duvall

Take a break from your everyday life to focus on your spiritual one.

Studying Luke chapter 18, this conference will explore Christ's teachings about the dimensions of the spiritual life, including:

The conference will provide plenty of time for prayer, meditation and reflection. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss Christ’s teachings in small groups.
