"I will build you a house" (2 Samuel 7:27-28) is God's promise to David that God will continue to bless David and provide for his needs. In response, David acknowledges and thanks God for his gifts.
God promises each of us this same unconditional love and care. Wrapped in this promise, God grants us the talents and tools we need to build our own lives.
At Winterlight 31, we will look at our lives and at how we build and construct them through God's assurances to us. We also will explore how we use our gifts out in the world as living symbols of God's promise to build each of us a house.
Began in 1976, Winterlight is a time for teenagers to gather, to celebrate, to explore their thoughts and beliefs, to worship and to make friends from many states — all by being in a Christian community.
Adults accompanying youth also have a special place at Winterlight. After a successful introduction in 2005, the Adult Program will be included again this year. Coordinated by Paul Canady, adult participants will attend all plenary sessions and will have their own programs.
