Days at Meg's Outpost
Mixing concrete... building the chimney... standing on the porch...
The first days are spent at the base camp, Meg’s Outpost, where Trailblazer Adventurers spend time getting to know one another through a carefully planned schedule of games, sessions at the Ropes Course and time spent constructing buildings at the Outpost site. Trailblazer Adventurers in previous years have built five Adirondack shelters, each sleeping eight, a shower house, Sarah’s Lodge and porch, the central gathering place and Jan’s Commissary where meals are prepared and food is stored.
Returning to Meg’s Outpost at the end of the session, the Trailblazer Adventurers clean their personal items, stow the camp’s gear and prepare to host their parents and families at a trail food breakfast and program on the closing day.
Leading from Camp Kanuga to Meg’s Outpost is the Mark Wier Trail to Adventure, named for Mark Wier who was an outdoorsman and hiker.
The trail is exactly what its name indicates a path to an unforgettable experience!
