Horseback riding under Carolina blue skies... Taking aim... A helping hand...
Camp Kanuga is a traditional co-ed summer camping program sponsored by Kanuga Conferences, an Episcopal center in the mountains of Western North Carolina. Camping has been an important Kanuga offering since the center opened in 1928.
Camp Kanuga offers young people ages 7-15 an enjoyable and stimulating experience in a Christian outdoor setting. The program enables campers to grow emotionally and spiritually while at the same time developing new interests, skills and friendships.
Camp Kanuga welcomed 618 campers and Trailblazer Adventurers in 2009. They came from 26 states, England and Mexico. Kanuga’s national and international reputation gives campers and Trailblazer Adventurers great opportunity for friendships that cross the United States and oceans!
Camp Kanuga's continuing goals:
Who knew camp was this much fun?
- to offer an enjoyable summer experience in the Blue Ridge Mountains for young people from many states and other countries.
- to build a Christian family community among the campers and counselors, helping them enjoy the privileges and leading them to accept the responsibilities as contributing members.
- to introduce campers to new places and experiences, and to offer them challenging opportunities.
- to encourage appreciation for Earth and its inhabitants as God’s creations.
- to instill self-confidence about being away from home.
Camp Kanuga is ACA accredited.
