CAMP KANUGA

Important Information

Camp BEGINS AT 2:30 p.m. on opening day and ENDS at 9:00 a.m. on closing day. Because the staff is busy preparing for the session, early arrivals are not permitted to enter camp. A spacious parking lot is available close by with adjacent picnic grounds which are great places for tailgate-type lunches while waiting. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy our complimentary lemonade.

Kanuga is located just outside Hendersonville, N.C., off Interstate 26, which connects Interstate 40 (Asheville, N.C.) and Interstate 85 (Spartanburg, S.C.). See specific directions here. It is served by the Asheville Regional Airport. Transportation from and to the airport can be provided at a modest charge.

Discounts: For each 2008 camper registered at the regular rate, siblings will receive a discount on any 2008 camp session: $50.00 for a 9-day session and $75.00 for a 13-day session.

Canteen is held daily and includes an afternoon snack and special canteen events. Canteen fees are included in your registration fee; your camper will not need additional funds while at camp.

Camp Kanuga has a scholarship fund, provided in part as memorials to Albert S. Gooch, Sr., Joan Cotty White Howell, Benjamin Damon Lynch, Michael Peter Minkler, the Rev. CK OUTFITTERSCK Outfitters, the Camp Kanuga store, is located next to the picnic grove and is open on the opening and closing day of each camp session. Camp Kanuga Crazy Creek chairs, sweatshirts, t-shirts, baseball caps, visors, Nalgene water bottles and other items are available.

Cancellations must be in writing. Cancellations received at least 30 days before the session starts result in a full refund, less the deposit. Cancellations received less than 30 days before the session begins incur a penalty of 50 percent of the camp fee. Except for emergency, as determined by the Kanuga president, no refunds are made after the session has begun.
