Wishing you a very Happy New Year from Camp Kanuga!
2007 brought many great things to Camp Kanuga. Camp was 98% full with a waiting list 40 campers long. Camp received a 98% (A+) on its health inspection. A staff of 40 people served 590 campers, 43 Trailblazers and 8 Leadership Trainees. We raised over $100,000 and broke ground on the new Health Lodge. We renovated the staff lounge. We added a new campsite called Lunar Landing. We made plans to renovate the dining hall. Erica Clinefelter got a full-time job at Kanuga conference center after working as Camp Program Director. Julia Messer went to Virginia Theological Seminary. Lara Leitner, Whitt Bell, Richard Allred, Cricket and Curtis Morgan graduated from high school and started college. The first ever staff reunion reunited nearly 50 former staff members at Camp Kanuga in late August. The Trailblazers combined to hike more than 1700 miles of the Appalachian Trail. The Pack and Paddle program made a wonderful debut. Jim Buckalew was promoted to Field Director and Program Manager for the Trailblazer Programs. Nicole Bentley, Camp Registrar, got married to Kyle McKenzie, camp maintenance guy. We broke all previous records for number of campers registered before Christmas. Fran McKendree rocked the house. Badhair told amazing stories. A nationally recognized magician named Eric Brouman amazed the campers during session 2. The Ridge Runners hiked DuPont forest. Jane Werrell and Drake Talley won the Outstanding Counselor award.
...and that is just the tip of the iceburg. I left out millions of things that happened and the hundreds of people's lives that were impacted by Camp Kanuga in 2007.

Is Julia Messer gonna be at camp Kanuga this year sessions one and.or two????????? I Love Julia!!!! She my tickle monster!!!! LOL ???????????????????????????????
