Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving! Remember when you sit down for dinner to give thanks for your camp friends.
Now that you're getting the brochures, let me know what you like about them. We worked very hard to make sure to have an amazing brochure with all new pictures just like last year. We also tried to make it as usable as possible for you to share with your friends. It is very important that you share stories about camp with your friends when you give them the brochures. This will make the most impact when you invite them to camp next summer.
Camp is having its first snow of the year today. Even though it isn't cold enough to stick, I can't tell you how beautiful it is. I walked down to the lake yesterday, so quiet, so calm. I feel very grateful that I get to be a part of such a beautiful place. From peeking around the blog, a lot of you feel the same way...that is what is so great about Camp Kanuga.
I recently received a really great blog comment that I want to share with you. Though I don't know this person's name, their feelings and memories about Camp Kanuga are awesome and worth being posted.
I was just passing the time this evening roaming around the Internet and made my way to the Kanuga web site and then to this blog. I was a counselor at Kanuga almost 20 years ago!! Exclamation points because I can't believe it was that long ago (I'm really not that old). It is still fresh in my mind as the most enjoyable summer of my life (so far). I have only returned to Kanuga once since then and that was a couple of years after the summer I was a counselor, and even then a few things had changed like the building of the pavilion on the lake. I know a lot of other things have changed since then, but I am sure that what made my Camp Kanuga experince such a special one, the "camp experience," has not changed, and probably never will. Though I never was a camper at Kanuga, I did attend other camps growing up and I truly believe that summer camp can be one of the greatest experiences for kids.
Talk to you soon,
Brad
